Windows users with Bash also have access to OpenSSH. ![]() OpenSSH is included on Linux, macOS, and Windows Subsystem for Linux. Once you have your Dropletâs IP address, username, and password (if necessary), follow the instructions for your SSH client. If you did not use the SSH option, the Dropletâs password is the password you set during creation. If you uploaded SSH keys to your account and chose Add SSH Keys upon Droplet creation, you can connect to the Droplet using your preferred SSH client or command line. Exceptions to this include Rancher, where youâll log in as rancher, and FreeBSD, where youâll log in as freebsd. The default username is root on most operating systems, like Ubuntu and CentOS. You can mouse over it to copy it into your clipboard. The IP address is displayed in the IP Address column after your Droplet has been created. With an entry like this, you will be able to simply use ssh instead of ssh to connect to the server.To get your Dropletâs IP address, visit the DigitalOcean Control Panel. From the main window ( Figure A ), click the Add drop-down and select New Host.
